The rules of the house.
Buying from Bling Katrien — or just browsing — places you within a few simple commitments on both sides. We've kept this short and direct. Where South African law requires specific language, we've used it.
1 · Who these terms are between
"Bling Katrien" refers to the South African fashion atelier that operates this website (blingkatrien.com) and hand-crafts the pieces sold through it.
"You" refers to anyone using the website, whether browsing, signing up for an account, placing an order, joining the affiliate program, or enquiring about stockist status.
By using the website you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the website.
2 · Eligibility
To place an order you must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract. If you're buying on behalf of a business, you confirm you're authorised to do so on the business's behalf.
3 · Your account
You can shop as a guest, or create an account to save addresses, see order history, and download invoices. You're responsible for keeping your account password confidential and for any activity that happens under your account.
Tell us at support@blingkatrien.com as soon as you suspect any unauthorised use. We'll lock the account immediately and help you reset.
4 · Pricing & currency
All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include all taxes that currently apply. (Bling Katrien is not VAT-registered at this time; if and when that changes, the prices will continue to be the all-in amount you pay.)

5 · When the contract becomes binding
A binding contract of sale exists between you and Bling Katrien only when we send you the order-confirmation email — not when you click pay. This small gap gives us room to:
- Cancel and refund obvious pricing errors before they ship
- Refuse orders we reasonably believe are fraudulent
- Refund where a piece sold out between cart-add and payment (limited editions move fast)
If we cancel for any of these reasons, you'll get an immediate full refund.
6 · Limited editions
Bling Katrien sells in limited editions. Each piece is hand-crafted in small runs. Once an edition is retired we don't reissue it — even if it's popular. Stock counts on the product pages are live; when a piece is sold out it stays sold out.
7 · Pricing & promotional errors
Despite our best efforts, prices and promotions occasionally show with errors. Where the error is obvious (e.g. a R 9 950 piece showing for R 9), we reserve the right to cancel the order before fulfilment and refund you in full. We'll always let you know first.
8 · Discount codes
Discount codes are subject to the rules shown at checkout — minimum spend, expiry, usage limits, and whether they include free shipping. Codes can't be combined unless explicitly stated, can't be applied retroactively to past orders, and can be withdrawn at any time.
9 · Payment
We accept card payments through PayFast and Paystack, and EFT payments through Ozow. Each is a separately registered South African payment provider with its own security certifications. Card numbers and CVVs never touch Bling Katrien's servers — they go directly to the payment provider.
If a payment fails or you don't complete it within 4 hours, your order is automatically cancelled and the cart is freed up for other customers.
10 · Delivery
Delivery is governed by our Shipping policy — see there for timing, cost, tracking, and what happens if a parcel goes astray.
11 · Returns, refunds, and cancellations
Your rights and our processes are set out in:
These include the statutory rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act (5-business-day cooling-off on distance-selling, 6-month right to return defective goods), which we cannot contract out of.
12 · Intellectual property
All content on this website — the brand name, logo, designs, photographs, copy, illustrations, and the underlying code — is owned by Bling Katrien or used under licence. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or use it commercially without written permission.
Affiliates in our program receive a narrow licence to share Bling Katrien product imagery and links for the purpose of earning commission — see the Affiliate terms for the scope.
13 · Customer obligations
When using the website you agree:
- To provide accurate and truthful information
- Not to attempt to interfere with the site, gain unauthorised access, or scrape it at volume
- To raise any issue with an order through the support channel before initiating a chargeback with your bank — most things resolve faster directly with us
- Not to abuse the returns process (e.g. wearing a piece for an event and returning it as "change of mind")
14 · Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Bling Katrien's total liability to you arising out of any single order is limited to the price you actually paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable legislation.
15 · Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control. These include but are not limited to: load-shedding, power outages, natural disasters, civil unrest, courier strikes, port closures, pandemics, payment-processor outages, or acts of government.
16 · Privacy
We handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act. See the Privacy & POPIA policy for full detail.
17 · Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes that can't be resolved by direct discussion or through the Consumer Goods & Services Ombud (CGSO) are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa, with Mpumalanga as the home court.
18 · Dispute resolution
We always prefer to sort things out directly. Please write to support@blingkatrien.com first — most issues are resolved within a few emails.
If we can't reach a resolution, the next step is the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO), a free service for South African consumers:

19 · Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the bottom and email anyone with an active account about material changes. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
