Returns
If it isn't quite right.
We want every Bling Katrien piece to feel inevitable when it arrives. If it doesn't, here's how to send it back — and what we'll do next.
1 · The return window
You have 14 days from the day your parcel is delivered to request a return. That's more than the legal minimum under the Consumer Protection Act, because limited editions deserve a proper indoor try-on.
2 · Condition required
For a return to be accepted, the piece must be:
- Unworn outdoors. Indoor try-on, with shoes off, on clean flooring is fine.
- Original tags attached.
- Crystals and embellishments intact — no missing, loose, or damaged stones.
- Original packaging where possible (the garment bag we shipped it in).
Anything that arrives back showing wear, alterations, smoke or perfume residue, or damage to the embellishments may not qualify for a full refund. We'll always let you know before deciding, and offer the alternatives below.
3 · What can't be returned
A few categories are exempt for hygiene, custom-make, or final-sale reasons:
- Pieces marked "Final Sale" at checkout (clearly flagged on the product page before you buy)
- Pierced jewellery and earrings — health regulations
- Custom-altered or made-to-measure pieces sized specifically for you
- Pieces damaged after delivery by accidental use, snagging, machine washing where hand-wash was specified, etc.
4 · Your statutory rights
None of the above limits your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act. Defective or not-as-described pieces are returnable for full refund, repair, or replacement within 6 months of delivery — regardless of how long they've been worn — under CPA section 56.
5 · How to start a return
Email support@blingkatrien.com with:
- Your order number (the BK-XXXXXXXX on your confirmation email)
- The piece you're returning
- The reason (sizing, change of mind, defect, wrong item, etc.)
- A photo if the issue is visible
We'll respond within one business day with the return address and instructions. Please don't send a piece back before you hear from us — we want to be ready to receive it and process the refund quickly.
6 · Who pays return shipping
- Our fault — defective piece, wrong item sent, wrong size shipped: we pay. We'll email a prepaid return waybill.
- Sizing exchange (one swap per order, subject to stock availability): we pay the outbound exchange shipping; you pay to send the original piece back.
- Change of mind — fit, colour in person, styling: you pay return shipping. Choose a tracked courier so neither of us loses sight of the parcel.
7 · What happens once we receive it
We inspect every return within 3 business days of receipt. You'll get an email confirming the outcome and any next steps.
Then you choose:
- Refund to your original payment method — the simplest path
- Store credit — comes with a 10% bonus on top of the refund value as a thank-you for keeping the atelier moving. Credit doesn't expire.
- Exchange for the same piece in a different size (if available) or another piece from the current collection (price difference settled either way)
8 · Refund timing
Refunds land back in your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days of approval — most show up within a week, but some banks take longer to clear the reversal. The exact wording on your statement depends on your bank.
9 · Sizing exchanges in detail
We know fit is the hardest part of buying clothing online. Every order is entitled to one free sizing exchange (we cover outbound shipping), subject to:
- Stock of the new size — limited editions sell fast, so we can't always guarantee a swap. If your size is sold out we switch to refund or store credit.
- The original piece being in unworn, tags-on condition.
- The exchange being requested within the 14-day return window.
10 · Return address

Please don't post returns to any address you find on social media or older communications — addresses can change. We'll always send the current one when you initiate the return by email.
